St. John The Theologian (also known as John The Evangelist, John The Divine, or John of Patmos) was one of the original twelve Apostles.  He was the youngest of the twelve apostles, and especially close to the Lord. He was present for the Transfiguration of Christ with Peter and his brother James.  He wrote the Gospel bearing his name; three canonical letters: I John, II John, and III John; and the Book of Revelation.  St. John was exiled to the island of Patmos by Emperor Domitian around 90-95 A.D., and it was there that he received and wrote the Book of Revelation.

St. Prochorus was one of the Seven Deacons chosen to care for the poor of the Christian community in Jerusalem.  He is also thought to have been a companion of John the Apostle, who consecrated him bishop of Nicomedia in Bithynia.
