From early youth you loved Christ, the Eternal Word, and yearned to serve him in stillness and simplicity of heart. But the right hand of the One on High chose you for the episcopal throne, and made you an unfaltering shepherd for your people. For the sake of the faith and the unity of the Church, you offered yourself as a perfect sacrifice to God. O priest-martyr Paul, pray to Christ God for the salvation of our souls.

Inflamed with love for the Divine Heart, you shone for us like a most bright star. We came to know you as a zealous hierarch of our Church. Thus, lauding in song your most honored memory, we render thanks to God on your account. For even today, our holy hierarch and father Paul. you teach us by your words: God is love, let us love Him.
